Two friends of mine are reaching out to local design community to start an AIGA Chapter here in Toledo. This is a long time coming so please show your support.

Dear Graphic Design Professionals and Students,

We are cordially inviting you to join us in establishing a Toledo area AIGA (the professional association for design) Chapter. We are grateful for the open doors made available to us by the Cleveland and Detroit chapters, but feel the Toledo area is in need of connecting with our fellow designers locally and hosting some of our own design inspired events.

As a member of AIGA, the oldest and largest membership association for design professionals, you will be part of a national organization that represents more than 19,000 designers. A group of individuals who share a mission to advancing design as a professional craft, strategic tool and vital cultural force. And as a local member of the Toledo Area Chapter you will be making a difference right here – where you live and work.

Whether our group becomes large or small, it is time for us to establish our beacon for promoting and communicating design standards and practices in our area. It is time for a group that is committed to advancing understanding of the value of design. It is time to secure the Toledo area as a worthy and notable design community among our peers nationally.

Wednesday, August 1, 2007
from 7 p.m. to 8-ish
at the Maumee Library
501 River Road, Maumee, Ohio.
The focus of the meeting will be of general interest about forming a chapter. We hope that you will kindly provide us with an RSVP, via e-mail, so that we may appropriately prepare for the turnout. We look forward to seeing you!*
