If you want to catch and eat fish in Ohio, you need a license. There are rules. Right?

Well, if you’re FirstEnergy Generation Corp., there is no license and no rules. The biggest fish killer in the Great Lakes is FirstEnergy’s Bayshore power plant, near Toledo. Every day, the plant kills over 6 million fish from its intake water. Company reports show that, annually, 77,812 walleye and 123,405 yellow perch are caught and killed on the screens, and over a BILLION more are killed by going through the screens. If FirstEnergy were treated like a normal fisherman, they would need to buy hundreds of thousands of fishing licenses. But FirstEnergy doesn’t pay a cent.

There is a meeting to announce regarding the fish kills caused by power plants on Lake Erie we would like to bring to your attention. It is free, and it is your chance to voice your opinion.
